The full name of this seminar is 'Maritime Business Integrity and Corruption Awareness', abbreviated as CORA. The seminar is organised yearly for the benefit of the WMU MSc Class and aims at raising awareness and instilling a proactive culture vis-a-vis the scourge of maritime corruption, represented primarily in demands for bribes and facilitation payments from seafarers and ship operators. The CORA seminar is run by WMU in partnership with the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN), which is a global business network working towards the vision of a maritime industry free of corruption. Dr Aref Fakhry is the seminar's convenor.
